NOVEMBER 06 - GO FOR COLOUR!

An innovative colour-matching service
has helped a woman achieve the conservatory of her dreams.
Former textile testing laboratory manager Barbara Painter
wanted the windows in her Derbyshire cottage replacing,
and a new 4m x 4m conservatory, but did not want conventional
white or woodgrain, but a moss green colour she had seen
at a historic building. Complete Building & Plastic
(Installations) came up with a solution: utilising innovative
technology from Building Product Design to spray paint
all the plastic elements of the project to the exact
Pantone reference required.
BPD’s Pinxton factory spray-painted both the new
uPVC windows for the front façade and the entire
conservatory French doors, windows and roof frame, through
to the detail of the gutter brackets and guttering, in
RAL6005 Moss Green.
Barry Hallahan, managing director of Complete Building & Plastic
Installations, explained, “Mrs Painter’s
background meant she has an in-depth knowledge of colour
and the effects of sunlight and weathering on the finish.
The front of her house is in direct sunlight, so it was
important for her that the colour would remain stable
and not fade. She was adamant she wanted this specific
green, and to my knowledge there is no foil available
on the UK market in that shade of green. Building Product
Design was able to paint all the components on the exterior
surface only as we wanted, to the exact colour required.
Mrs Painter’s very pleased!”
Building Product Design offers its uPVC colouring service
for all window tricklevents, windows, conservatories, doors,
barge and soffit boards. The satin paint finish is scratch
resistant and will not chip, crack or flake, is UV stable
so will not fade, and is guaranteed weatherproof. Building
Product Design can paint the entire PVCu component, or
one side only, be it small batch orders or large volume.
